GRK Infra AB has been selected to implement the Swedish Transport Agency Trafikverket’s road project E4, Börjelslandet between Persön–S. Råneå . The project is a development-friendly pilot project with a focus on reducing CO2 emissions.
Trafikverket has designated the project as a development project aimed at encouraging the contractor to reduce its carbon footprint by reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions during construction.
“We are very pleased to have received this interesting and challenging task. We are waiting for the start of the contract, and that we will be able to significantly reduce the project’s carbon dioxide emissions with our own expertise,” says Mika Mäenpää, CEO of GRK Infra AB. “At the same time, we want to be a pioneer in the field when it comes to innovative solutions that reduce our carbon footprint.”
The project includes the construction of a crash barrier, a game fence and a pedestrian and cycling tunnel on the E4 road, as well as the related pedestrian and cycling routes, a new road alignment and the construction of animal exits. In addition, bus stops will be relocated and connected to pedestrian and cycling routes, several existing connections on the E4 will be closed and traffic will be diverted to new connections. The project will start in autumn 2021 and is scheduled for completion in autumn 2022.
