At the end of 2025, GRK’s current CEO, Juha Toimela, will reach the retirement age specified in his employment contract. GRK’s Board of Directors has decided to appoint Mika Mäenpää, CEO of GRK Sverige, as the company’s future CEO.
According to the current estimate, the change of CEO will take place by 30 September 2025 at the latest. Juha Toimela will provide Mika Mäenpää support in the transfer of duties until the end of the year, if necessary.
Until the change, Juha Toimela and Mika Mäenpää will continue to be responsible for their current duties. Announcing this planned change allows for a controlled transition as well as strengthening GRK’s Swedish business and carrying out recruitment.
“I would like to already thank Juha Toimela for his excellent performance as the company’s CEO during a time when the market environment has been shaped by both the coronavirus pandemic and the war in Ukraine. The company has seen solid growth in recent years and, in particular, has been able to maintain its profitability at a high level,” says Kari Kauniskangas, Chairman of the Board. He continues:
“I would also like to wish Mika Mäenpää the best possible success in his new role. Under Mika’s leadership, GRK’s business in Sweden has developed very strongly in recent years. We believe that Mika has excellent qualifications to also succeed and thrive in this new position.”
