GRK Infra Oy’s subsidiary in Estonia, GRK Infra AS, has signed a contract with OÜ Rail Baltic Estonia regarding the Urge green bridge that is part of the Rail Baltica -project. The contract is worth EUR 4.7 million and the work will be completed in September 2022.
The work takes place in the Rail Baltica railway area in Rapla County, Estonia. The green bridge allows animals to cross the railway tracks safely from above. The work includes constructing a 100-metre-long reinforced concrete structure for the green bridge and a surface structure that includes trees and other vegetation. The project involves the processing of 3000 m³ of concrete and 40 pre-cast arch elements, as well as 240,000 m³ of landfill work. Some of the soil already on site can be used in the landfill work.
The design work and information modelling for the project is already well under way. Work on the site is expected to start in November 2021 and the project is on track to be completed in ten months.
”We are very pleased with this breakthrough regarding the Rail Baltica -project. This contract win complements our already strong order book in Estonia very well. Our expectations are high for future tenders for the Rail Baltica -project,” says Juha Toimela, CEO of GRK Infra Oy.
